Henry Waxman, I Love You!

The pennies and shoes are going to be dropping like crazy any day now.

Look for resignations by score. The end is near.

Or so I hope, and that hope comes in the form of Henry Waxman, who is (thanks to the Democrats taking Congress) the Chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee. It is not a story you will find in that Mainstream Media with the well known Liberal Bias, but do a little looking and you'll get the skinny on the most important thing happening in Washington right now.

Waxman to Rice: Answer 11 ignored letters on Iraq claims

He's demanding that Condi respond to 11 outstanding requests for information regarding the Iraq threat since 2003, including her "role in the President's false assertion that Iraq was seeking uranium from Niger."

You can read the actual letter here.

My favorite part is:

"Since 2003,I have been asking why President Bush and other top Administration officials used fabricated intelligence about lraq's efforts to obtain uranium from Niger to justify launching the Iraq war. I first wrote to the President about this matter on March 17 ,2003, two days before the start of the Iraq war. In my letter, I asked why the President had included the bogus Niger claim in his January 28,2003, State of the Union address, the most heavily vetted speech a president makes. I wrote:

In the last ten days ... it has become incontrovertibly clear that a key piece of evidence you and other Administration officials have cited regarding Iraq's efforts to obtain nuclear weapons is a hoax. What's more, the Central Intelligence Agency questioned the veracity of the evidence at the same time you and other Administration officials were citing it in public statements. This is a breach of the highest order, and the American people are entitled to know how it happened."

That was TWO DAYS before we started the war. TWO DAYS!!!

Don't let them tell you that Congress had the same information the President did, and that "Everybody believed there were WMDs in Iraq." Not to put too fine a point on it, that claim is Bovine Fecal Matter. He lied. The war is illegal. His whole administration are guilty of the most heinous crimes you can commit against not only our own nation, the nations of the world, but humanity itself. They must go, and they must go now.

After reading the story from RAW (linked above), check out some other sources, including Waxman's own Committee website.

Then send Congressman Waxman a thank you letter for being brave enough, and enough of a patriot to stand up and fight for what this country is really supposed to be about--True Freedom, True Democracy, and...TRUTH ITSELF.

This is what I wrote to Congressman Waxman today. Please send him your own thoughts of support. And if you don't support him...kindly move to Dubai and leave real Americans alone.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for your courageous stand for truth and true democracy. I only wish there were more Americans in public service willing to find the truth, and deliver that truth to the people whom they serve.

You sir, are a great American, and one of the few in public office today which give me hope for a future worth having and for a restoration of the great legacy this nation has been justifiably proud of under past administations, regardless of the party holding the office of the President.

The current state of this nation, and the regrettable fact of the wars we now find ourselves fighting for the forseeable future, transcend party politics. Republicans did not take us to this place, George Bush and the Project for a New American Century did.

I believe that the truth sets us free, and that you are our best hope for that freedom today.

Thank you again, sir, for doing the work you were sent to Washington to do.
